UPS earns John Deere’s top supplier recognition

Atlanta-based logistics company United Parcel Service (UPS) has earned 2013 Partner-level supplier recognition, the highest rating on a supplier, in the John Deere Achieving Excellence program.

“The company was selected for the honor in recognition of its dedication to providing services of outstanding quality as well as its commitment to continuous improvement,” UPS said in a press release.

The company has been providing high-quality logistics services to nearly 590 Deere & Company locations across the U.S. since the 1980s, including small package and air freight services.

U.S. agriculture machinery producer Deery & Company, well-known under its brand name John Deery, created the recognition program in 1991 to award top supplier partners on the performance, quality and support they provide.

UPS was lauched in 1980 and began franchising the same year.

There are some 4,800 units under The UPS Store brand in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada, most of which are operated by franchise partners.

UPS serves over 220 countries throughout the world. In 2014, Entrepreneur magazine’s annual Franchise 500 rating listed The UPS Store as the number one franchise in the postal and business services category for the 24th consecutive year.
